About
Buckley

During the 1800’s, Buckley was a thriving industrial hub for brick making, pottery production, and coal mining. Many people came here in search of employment and this diverse mix of voices gave the town its distinctive ‘Buckley Accent’, sadly now in decline.

These former industrial sites now form a fascinating three mile Heritage Trail. Buckley Common is a beautiful green space within the town, with a large children’s playground and a duck pond. The colourful Buckley Jubilee, established in 1857, transforms the town every second Tuesday in July, and is traditionally led by The Royal Buckley Town Band, one of only two in the country permitted to use the word ‘Royal’ in their name.
