Fabulous Flintshire

Flintshire Ranks 2nd in Airbnb's Trending UK Destinations
Flintshire has emerged as one of the top trending seaside destinations in the United Kingdom, according to a recent report from Airbnb. This finding was based on searches and bookings on the company’s website for the first three months of 2023.

According to Amanda Cupples, Airbnb’s general manager for Northern Europe: “People are travelling to lesser-known parts of the country, with holidaymakers seeking unique experiences along untrodden paths.”

Flintshire

Nestled between the majestic Clwydian Range and the stunning Dee Estuary, Flintshire is home to several nature reserves and country parks, including Wepre Park, Loggerheads Country Park, and Greenfield Valley Heritage Park, which offer ancient woodlands, tumbling rivers, and breathtaking views.

A number of hiking trails such as the North Wales Pilgrim’s Way, Offa's Dyke Path, and the Wales Coast Path, wind through the country. Beyond its scenic landscapes, Flintshire is also known for its charming villages and market towns.

The bustling county town of Mold boasts a renowned theatre, a vibrant street market, and an array of independent shops and eateries. Other notable towns like Hawarden and Caerwys offer visitors a glimpse into Flintshire's rich history through their well-preserved architecture and historic landmarks.

Flintshire

One of Flintshire's most iconic buildings is Flint Castle, built in the 13th century by King Edward 1. This imposing fortress, standing sentinel on the banks of the River Dee, was built as the first of a series of castles to encircle North Wales, which became known as the ‘Iron Ring’.

Another site of great historical importance is St. Winefride's Well, located in Holywell. This ancient pilgrimage site, famous for its healing waters and beautiful architecture, has been attracting visitors for centuries.

The county is also home to a range of traditional Welsh pubs, cafés, and restaurants, where you can sample local delicacies, and a range of locally produced ales, gin, cider, and wine.

Flintshire's rise to become the second most trending destination in the UK on Airbnb is a testament to its growing popularity with travellers seeking new and interesting places to visit, outside of the traditional ‘honey pots’.

Offering natural beauty, rich history, and fantastic hospitality, Flintshire is fast becoming the up-and-coming destination for visitors to North Wales.
